Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the vision, strategy, and objectives for the engineering functions of the entire organization.
• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of senior engineers and technical staff to achieve project milestones and business goals.
• Oversee the design, development, and delivery of electrical systems, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and budgetary constraints.
• Collaborate with executive leadership to align engineering initiatives with overall business strategy.
• Drive continuous improvement and adoption of emerging technologies within engineering operations.
• Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, clients, and industry partners.
• Manage departmental budgets, resource allocation, and risk assessment for ongoing and future projects.
• Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and regulatory forums.
• Develop the engineering practice through business development with utilities, general contractors, developers and technology companies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field; advanced degrees preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in at least one state; preferably Illinois with the ability to get reciprocity and/or take PE exams in other states.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in electrical engineering, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems design, regulatory compliance, and project management.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage large-scale engineering projects.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Strong existing relationships within the utility, industrial/commercial electrical industry, general contractors, developers and technology companies is a must.

Work Environment

The Engineering Executive will work in an office setting in downtown Chicago near Millenium Park. The expectation will be to be in the office most days with some hybrid opportunities. The Engineering Executive will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer. Occasional travel may be required for client meetings, field meetings, visiting other operating offices etc.
