Commercial Plumber
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Key Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, and repair pipes, fixtures, and plumbing systems in commercial properties.
- Read and interpret blueprints and building specifications to map out plumbing layouts.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot plumbing issues, including leaks, clogs, and system malfunctions.
- Maintain and test backflow prevention devices, water heaters, and other specialized equipment.
- Ensure all work complies with local, state, and federal plumbing codes and safety standards.
- Collaborate with contractors, architects, and other construction professionals.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; completion of an apprenticeship program or technical school preferred.
- Valid plumbing license as required by state or local regulations (like to have but not required).
- Proven experience as a commercial plumber or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, materials, and equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical stamina and manual dexterity.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to job sites.
- Must pass a background and drug screening.
Working Conditions
Commercial plumbers typically work both indoors and outdoors, sometimes in cramped or elevated spaces. The job may require lifting heavy materials and working outside of regular business hours to address emergencies or complete projects on schedule.
